In the early 1900s, “jitney” was slang for a “nickel”. Times were tough. The rich rode in fancy carriages. Unlicensed taxis began offering rides to folks for a cheap fare. You could get a ride for a jitney. That caught on. Jitneys became any vehicle you could hop onto that was going your way.

JITNEY RIDE is “Ms. Patty Marie” Riemann, percussion, vocals, “Mr. Mike” Williams, bass and vocals and “Easy Mark” Ohlson, guitar and vocals. As singer/songwriters, music is our motivation. We celebrate and support local singer/songwriters at home in the Louisville area and wherever we can when traveling. Ms. Patty and Mr. Mike perform in collaboration with a number of local musicians. Easy Mark performs with the Juggernaut Jug Band and his song “Pennies” was included on the New Grass Revival’s first album.

It’s a great ride and we invite you to hop on. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MUSIC!
